Belen Garcia on track for first Formula Regional rounds

- From Kart to F1
As recently announced, the Spanish girl will be on track for the first rounds of the Formula Regional ahead of the big W Series season!

Our recent Vroom Women Award winner, Belen Garcia, is back in single-seater thanks to the recent agreement with G4 Racing that will line her up at the starting blocks of the first two rounds of the championship, including the Barcelona race in conjunction with the Spanish F1 Grand Prix weekend!

A great start to the season for Belen, fresh from the successes of 2019 and the constant movement on the track also and especially with the kart where she took part in the World Championship weekend in Lonato! This part-time commitment of the Spanish girl will surely prepare her for the W Series season, more awaited than ever after last year's stop.

Below is Belen's interview after her Vroom Women Awards win!

- Belen, did you expect to win this competition?
«Not at all! When I first saw I was in the top 5 among these amazing girls and women I was already surprised. Then people started to be interested in voting and asked me about it and it was already great, but being on top and then second pushed me to try to get this contest to more people. The response from everyone has been really overwhelming, I can't thank them enough».

- You have only competed in one FIA race but for the rest of the year we have seen that you have been training a lot in karts. What was it like coming back to karting?
«Yes, the KZ2 Super Cup was one of the greatest events I have competed at, I struggled a bit but that taught me loads. The rest of the year I have been competing in the Spanish Championship. I felt good at my comeback, even though I would have liked to achieve a bit more than I could... but that's racing, right? I learned and enjoyed a lot alongside my team Faluga Racing and my mechanic Peto Nieves so that is what I am keeping from this season».

- What do you expect from your first W Series season?
«This is a season that I will forever remember, whatever is the final result or performance. It is the greatest opportunity of my life to this point so my main goal is to enjoy and learn from it. Of course, my goal is more ambitious than just being there, but time will tell».

- Do you think you will always continue to train karting at a high level?
«For sure I will be back. Karting is a discipline of motorsports I enjoy a lot and I would love to do another FIA race some time. Anyway, I have my own KZ and when the current situation allows me to, I test in tracks close to home».
