The Slovenian driver recovered in a complicated but useful weekend to grow further and get his first final in the new category.
In his third race ever in the new OKJ category, Mark Kastelic got his first qualification to the final after a rewarding pre-final.
The official qualifying and the heats had not smiled on the DPK driver who, from the 8th place in the group after the qualifying, had to deal with the heavy traffic in the middle of the group in all the heats available. After a good ninth and seventh place, the last two heats on Saturday forced Mark to retire after some race contacts.
With a great reset and a great desire to compete, Kastelic brought out the best of himself in the pre-final, starting from the back but recovering six good positions to close in P11 and qualify for the first OKJ final. The last act of the weekend did not go as Kastelic wanted, as he was involved in other contacts in the early stages of the race which forced him into 29th place.
Anyway, Kastelic showed other great progress, thanks above all to the work with Felice Tiene, the whole DPK team and the engine driver.
Appointment at Sarno for the third round of the WSK Super Master Series.
