After much hard work behind the scenes, with assistance from the Limburg municipality and the Mayor of Genk, the BNL Karting Series now heads into its 14th season at full throttle, as the “Grand Kick-Off” sees over 140 drivers from 14 different nations head to the world-renowned Karting Genk circuit in Belgium for two action-packed days of racing.
Even with the current COVID-19 restrictions still not allowing spectators at this time, this will not dim the atmosphere that will hear the sound of engines, the smell of fuel and rubber, coupled with great racing at the 1,360-metre circuit, located just one hour outside the capital city of Brussels.
The 2020 season may have come to an abrupt end in October of last year, due to the pandemic accelerating again, but the hunger for racing is bright and will shine at the track for all to see.
“After what was a very difficult year for everyone, we are really pleased to be able to go racing next weekend,” stated Dave Ritzen, BNL Karting Series organiser.
“It means so much to everyone in the paddock, including the teams, drivers and staff, that we had the welcome assistance of the local municipality and the Mayor of Genk, to really help bring competition back to Karting Genk”.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the track, even with the restrictions in place.”
Some of the very best in Europe will get their campaigns underway in this one-off event, which will see racing on both the Saturday and Sunday, to determine who will be the Kick-Off champions in 2021.
