Maciej Gladysz: «This season will be a big challenge for me, I want to learn as much as possible»

- Interview
The 2021 season of the OKJ category will have a new name among the young rookies, that of Maciej Gladysz.

The young Gladysz is a new Sauber Karting Team face, an important step for the Polish driver after a 2020 as a protagonist in his last year of 60 Mini category.

During the past season, together with the Parolin team, Gladysz maximised his experience in 60 Mini, managing to get some great results and settle in the positions that count. After gaining as much experience as possible in the cadet category, it was time to make a change and raise his level. So, Maciek will be at the starting blocks of the new era of the OKJ category starting from this weekend for the WSK Champions Cup.

- Maciek, how do you assess your 2020? And what do you expect from 2021?
«I rate the 2020 season very well. Together with Parolin Racing Kart, I obtained some very valuable results, such as winning the WSK Open Cup series. I also took third place in the WSK Super Master Series, I was third in the prestigious Andrea Margutti Trofeo and in the ROK Superfinal as well.
I have definitely improved as a driver, driving all season in Italy with the best drivers from all over the world. In the 2021 season, I moved to the OKJ class. Much faster, stronger for older drivers. For sure this season will be a big challenge for me, I want to learn as much as possible and race in as many races as possible. As always, I will do my best».

- This year you will race in OKJ with the Sauber team, have you already done any testing?
«Yes, everything will be new to me in this season. New OKJ class and Sauber Orlen Karting Team. We have had two tests with the team at the track in Adria. I’m satisfied and I look positively at the upcoming WSK Champions Cup - season opening competition».

- What will your calendar include and what is your goal for this season?
«I will participate in the full cycle of WSK, RGMMC Champion of the Future, FIA European and World Championships. I will try to do my best in each competition, make progress and fight for the highest goals! I am a sportsman and I am always fighting for the full pot».
