The American Parolin driver made his debut in the new OKJ category in the best possible way.

Kai has completed in the best possible way a weekend certainly very expensive of energy because of the double sessions as the Open Cup WSK 2020 has provided both stages within the same week.
Kai's commitment started from the first days of testing with the kart in OKJ configuration. The American immediately found a good feeling, securing two good performances in the last qualifying sessions of the season with a P3 in group C (49,809) and a P5, still in group C (49,946). Unlike the Mini category, now successfully completed, Kai faced fewer heats than usual but equally challenging, especially in a parallel direct clash programme. In round 1, he scored an absolute P17 for the start of pre-final 1 also due to an unfortunate retirement. In the combined ranking of round 2 heats, however, he achieved a better result with tenth place for the start of the second pre-final thanks to a good fifth place in the last heat.
In the last two days of the race, Kai was able to find the right concentration both in the two pre-finals and in the two finals. In the first pre-final, The California Kid, was able to recover 13 positions finishing fourth overall, a great performance repeated also in the second pre-final with seventh place and three other overtakes.
The last day marked the end of the sports season for Sorensen with the last two finals scheduled. In the first race, Kai put all the experience gained during the weekend into practice, managing the battle of the first positions in an optimal way, so much so that he finished in P5 with the first top five of his adventure in OKJ. In the second final unfortunately he was not able to recover but he finished in P13 maintaining the starting position and proving to be very fast.
"I'm very satisfied with my first weekend in OKJ, it wasn't easy to get used to the new bike but thanks to the team and my mechanic I was able to do it right away. I thank Parolin very much for this possibility, my mechanic and my tuner. I also want to thank all the people who supported us in 2020".
