The all-female series announces the important partnership with the Formula 1 universe from next season. Eight Grand Prix in parallel to confirm the category.
The year 2020 has penalised the W Series project, which started in the past season and immediately achieved great results on a global scale for its spectacularity, interest and prominence in the only formula category that is exclusively for women. We would like to remind you that the W Series is based on precise selections that season after season will bring new performers to the track, without financial constraints, a great point in favour without a shadow of a doubt.
This morning, the W Series has announced a great news that will certainly re-launch 2021 of all the protagonists still waiting to get on track. The F1 calendar, in fact, in the categories following the maximum series, will include the W Series for eight appointments on tracks still to be defined. Already in 2020 the series should have followed F1 in American races such as Austin and Mexico City, which should therefore be confirmed and implemented by other appointments.
Catherine Bond Muir, W Series Chief Executive Officer, confirmed:
«Formula 1 is by some margin the first motor racing series in the world and when we promised that the W Series would be bigger and better in the future, partnership with Formula 1 has always been our ultimate goal. There is no doubt that now that the W Series will be run alongside and in partnership with Formula 1, our global reach, impact and influence will increase significantly. Everything that made the W Series so popular and successful in 2019 will remain. The cars will be identical, the races will be close and competitive, and our mission will always be to promote the interests and perspectives of women drivers».
Ross Brawn: «We are excited to announce our 2021 season this week and expect a great season with a mix of new races and established circuits that we missed during our unprecedented 2020 season. It's a really important moment for us to welcome the W Series as our partner for eight races in the new season».

We also interviewed Fabienne Wohlwend, one of the stars of last season and next year's upcoming season.
«It's incredible news, racing alongside Formula 1 is a childhood dream come true. Formula 1 is the leading motorsport series in the world and I am delighted to be part of this great racing programme and it will help us to reach more people around the world and grow as better drivers. As for the tracks where I would like to race, the Formula 1 calendar is absolutely extraordinary, I think Monaco is on the list of the best drivers, but I also hope to race in Spa. Fingers crossed and I'll keep you updated».
We also remember our exclusive interview with Catherine Bond Muir (W Series CEO) on Vroom in October, also available digitally on pocketmags.com (CLIK HERE).
