Objective achieved for Rehm in Germany

Press Release by:
Maxim Rehm reached his goals in the last round of the FIA Karting OKJ European Championship in Wackersdorf last week.

Rehm stood out with the 4th group time in the Qualifying Practices, close to the top 10 overall. In the Heats, the young German driver improved his pace again, which allowed him to grab two victories and a 2nd place in the five heats raced.

In the Final, after a good start, Rehm led an attack-mode first phase of the race. Halfway through the race, more conservative management allowed him to stay in contact with the leading group, to prepare his attack for the podium in the last few laps.

At the crucial moment, contact caused him to lose several positions. However, the 11th final position confirmed Rehm's great shape on the German circuit.

Maxim Rehm, Tony Kart Racing Team: "I start saying that I'm happy with the result. I missed two consecutive qualifications to the Final in the FIA events, so my main goal was to reach the Final. What's happened on Saturday, two victories and one of the field's best paces, gave me a big boost; that's why I expected something more from the final, but the last lap's contact dropped me to 11th position. If I maintain this pace also for the future, I can fight for something important. Thanks to everyone in Tony Kart for giving me a perfect machine."

Maxim Rehm's next race will be the double round of the WSK Euro Series, scheduled for this week at South Garda Karting.
