Press Release by:
Despite the retire in the final after a collision, Tom Braeken had a good weekend in the second round of the Academy Trophy placed in Genk.

The weekend started in the best way possible, Tom in fact took the overall pole position with more than 0.4” on the second. The Belgian maintained high his level also in the Heats, showing once again his good feeling with the Home of Champions track.

Unfortunately, despite being one of the most competitive drivers of the lot, a collision in the final put the young Belgian out of action. A real shame, considering the great pace shown on the track.

Tom Braeken, Belgium: “I'm disappointed for the result, especially if I look at the great potential showed during the weekend. I’m deeply convinced that we’re going to the right way, I just need to maintain the calm in the crucial moment, this is the key. I’ll try to convert the experience in fact starting from this weekend’s race.”

Braeken, however, is ready to get back on track this weekend for the 3rd and final act of the FIA Karting European Championship scheduled in Wackersdorf.
