Tom Braeken took another podium result in the DKM round of Kerpen.
Tom Braeken gained the 3rd step of the Race 2 podium in the second round of the Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft.
The SP Motorsport driver, who was already competitive in the opening round, had a weekend in crescendo. Braeken started with the 7th best lap in his Qualifying group. This meant the 14th time overall.
In the first out of two heats raced, the Belgian standard-bearer in the FIA Academy Trophy, finished P3, while in the second one he crossed the finish line in 7th. After a good start, his first final was influenced by some mistakes and contacts that prevented him to fight for a top3 result. In the second race, he completely reset his mind and this allowed him to finished 3rd.
Tom Braeken, SP Motorsport: «I’m overall satisfied with the pace I had. Of course, I wanted something more in Race 1, but I understood where I made mistakes and this already helped me with Race 2. If I look at the beginning of the season I feel that I’ve grown a lot, but I also know that there’s a big room for improvement for the remaining races of the season.»
Tom will move to Genk for the second round of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
