Rillaerts - who also won the Kick Off 2.0 - showed a special feeling with Genk, but the rain changed his expectations a bit. A brilliant drive allowed him to take the overall victory.
1) Did you expect the result of Genk?
I did expect to win as long as it was dry. We had the perfect setup but then it started to rain just before the start and so I was a bit insecure as we had no training in the rain
2) Comment the round 1 races.
My heats were very good but in heat 2 I was in a crash. I knew I had to win heat 3 to keep my pole position. On Sunday I fought very hard for each meter we had to drive. Mcyntire was far ahead but the kart was not in the right setup. In the second race I played in safe mode because I knew a second place was enough to secure my victory.
3) Expectation for the next RMCET races.
Next is Wackersdorf. I really hope to win this race to make my position stronger. It will rain so I hope practice will be in rainy conditions too so I will be prepared for Sunday.
Adria is an unknown track for me so I will definitely etely need some practice. Campillos is a magnificent track. I bruised my ribs in the Winter Cup and had to have physio over there every day. Painkillers were my best friend at that moment but I managed to finish 9th out of 69 drivers.
4) Comments regarding this particular situation caused by Covid?
I was very disappointed not to be able to drive for such a long time. I was looking forward to the Belgian championship to win my ticket for the grand finals in Bahrain. Unfortunately this championship has been cancelled so I will do my utmost to win this in Euro Trophy. I hope this corona is quickly over now so that the scheduled calendars can be respected.
