Braeken on podium in the BNL Karting Series opening round.
Productive weekend for Tom Braeken at the BNL Karting Series round 1 placed in Genk on August 1 and 2, in which the Belgian closed 3rd in the combined ranking.
On Saturday Braeken finished 2nd in the Qualifying Practices and in the Prefinal, and then 4th after an exciting battle in the Final. On Sunday the day started out with the 4th fastest lap in the Time Practices, improved in the 2nd one after the Prefinal.
Tom shined in the Final, in which he crossed the line in first place grabbing his first victory of the year. A penalty after the race forced him to step back to P5.
Tom Braeken, SP Motorsport: «I’m disappointed with the penalty received in Sunday’s Final, but I respect the job done by the Stewards Commission and I accept the decision. It’s hard, but it’s also part of the game. I hope to stay 1st also after the checkered flag next time.»
Braeken’s 2020 will continue this weekend in Kerpen for the DKM round 1.
