Montecarlo 2019, Hubert's triumph!

Columns: Stories
The Montecarlo 2020 weekend will remain only virtual for this season but last year's memories remain as strong as Anthoine Hubert's victory in F2.

A year after his first Formula 2 victory, we want to remember a driver that we met in karting and that we would certainly have appreciated in the coming years. Hubert's tragic death marked one of the blackest days in motorsport with that violent impact during the Spa weekend. A black day that we would not have wanted to experience but which does not erase the memory of the French, promising and above all winning, exactly like 365 days does.

Heartbreaking victory for Hubert on the streets of Monaco where for 30 laps he managed to keep the lead of the race arriving at the knife with L.Deletraz in the last laps, then crossing the finish line in first position. Memorable day for Hubert, the true protagonist of the most awaited weekend of the season.

During his karting period, Hubert has repeatedly risen on the podium with respectable placings also in the FIA field including the double third place in the Under 18 World Cup (pictured) 2011 and 2012 and the second place in the FIA Academy Trophy a few years earlier.
