After Sebastian Vettel's farewell, another son of karts lands in Ferrari, Carlos Sainz ready to don red!
With the engines unfortunately off or having just restarted as regards karts, motorsport lives the vicissitudes of the Formula 1 drivers market, a veritable relief valve in the absence of competitions. After Sebastian Vettel's farewell at the end of 2020, Ferrari has today made the arrival of Carlos Sainz for 2021 official. A news item that caused a sensation but that for the past few days everyone has been waiting for, especially after the "break up" of the marriage between the Prancing Horse and the four-time German World Champion.
Sainz's arrival represents a historic turning point for Ferrari which after years shall find itself starting a season without World Champions (at least for now) but with the awareness of having lowered the average age by launching this new couple into the rankings of the youngest drivers ever. Over the past season, Charles Leclerc has already demonstrated all his potential, something that those who know him from previous formulas and categories was certainly not a novelty, but having confrmed expectations, even surpassed them, earned his consecration. Leclerc, too, is one of the sons of recent karting along with Verstappen, Ocon, Russell, Norris and, undoubtedly, also Carlos Sainz.

The Spaniard will be a neo-Ferrari driver after the end of this strange 2020 with experience to exploit and that podium (unique for now) in Brazil last season as a business card. Sainz's path starts from afar, just like Leclerc's, from those battles on karts that subsequently, in time, projected him into Formula One. The new Ferrari pair has among their best results an Asia Pacific Championship KF3 in 2008, plenty of European and World placings for Sainz, and an FIA Academy Championship and a KF3 World Championship in 2011 for Leclerc also surrounded by several placings in world and European.
Two sons of the karting world, both ready to take the Red to the top by challenging their peers of that golden generation that continues to churn out talents and to renew the top series.
