Encouraging performances for Tom Braeken in the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy Winter Cup placed in Campillos.

Tom Braeken's 2020 has started encouragingly for Tom Braeken at the Rotax MAX Euro Trophy Winter Cup, staged at the Karting Campillos Circuit.

In Spain, Braeken was among the debutants in Junior MAX and, despite this, he immediately showed himself at the level of much more experienced drivers. The weekend started with a 5th position in his qualifying group, a result which then changed to 6th due to a stewards' decision.

In the three heats, the SP Motorsport driver finished in P5, P3 and P7.. Having taken 8th in Final 1, the Belgian was in the top5 when, due to a contact, he was forced to retreat to 11th position, passing the finish line with a damaged kart.

Having started 11th in Final 2, thanks to a good comeback, the young driver crossed the finish line in 7th place. In the overall classification, Braeken finished 9th, a top 10 in his first international Junior MAX race.

Tom Braeken, SP Motorsport: «It was a very intense weekend; above all, it was the first in the international arena and I'm satisfied. I made some good comebacks and I was far from errors. There is a bit of regret for the Prefinal. I had the pace to stay in the top 5, but unfortunately some accidents are part of the game. I'd like to thank Stan, SP Motorsport and Kart Republic for the practically perfect material.»

Braeken will be back on track on the track "at home" in Genk on the weekend of 8 March on the occasion of the Kick Off-event of the BNL Karting Series.
