Despite the retirement in Final, Maxim Rehm had a good weekend in the 25th edition of the Winter Cup.
The retirement in the Final does not do justice to Maxim Rehm's performance at the 25th edition of the Winter Cup in Lonato.
For the German driver, South Garda Karting was the second race with the colors of the Tony Kart Racing Team, a team with which he is adapting well to both the staff's modus operandi and its pace.
In the Qualifying Practice, Rehm immediately hit the top 10 in his group, finishing 9th. The retirement in the first heat influenced his march that in the other heats saw him close twice in P10 and once in P5.
Bad luck, unfortunately, struck in the SuperHeat and in the Final, where he was forced to retire in both cases. In the Final an unlucky problem forced him to come back to Parc Fermé while he was trying to make his way through the field after starting 34th.
Maxim Rehm, Tony Kart Racing Team: «I think we had a good pace in the Winter Cup. Most of the most time, I drove the same time as the leaders. I crashed two times in the heat (first and Super Heat) and in the final I was forced to stop my kart due to an unlucky problem. Overall, I think it was a quite good race weekend.»
Rehm will seek redemption this weekend on the occasion of the 2nd round of the WSK Super Master Series, also at the South Garda Karting in Lonato.
