Frey flying, Bondarev and Cui unlucky
The Swiss driver, after a good performance in qualifying, did not have an easy life in Saturday's qualifying heats. In the Final, on top of a good start from the get-go, he also flew past rivals, gaining eleven positions to end in P19. Less fortunate, his colleagues Oleksander Bondarev and YuanPu Cui, who despite a good qualification, respectively in 7th and 11th position in their group, had to deal with several difficulties in the Final.
In the Final, Bondarev finished P26th after contact at mid-race; Cui was instead hit by 5-second penalty for front spoiler release.
Minetto in top 5 in Final B
Following a complicated qualifying and a couple of unfavorable elimination heats, the Italian imposed his pace in Final B, recovering from 12th position to 5th.
Newman and Cyrus one step from entering the final phase.
Despite an encouraging start, the first round of the WSK Super Master Series was unforgiving with Chi Newman and Emiliano Cyrus, both struggling with a number of difficulties already from qualifying. In the elimination heats, despite a positive and extremely combative attitude, the positions gained were not enough to enter the final phase.
Salvatore Gatto, Team Manager: “This weekend was the end of a very demanding 3 weeks in Adria. Our drivers did their best, showing once again that they have the right attitude. In some cases, the efforts didn't pay off, but this is part of motorsport; you don't always win. It's important that you take advantage of these experiences to base future successes upon."
The next round of the Gamoto team is the 25th Winter Cup edition, scheduled in two weeks at the South Garda Karting in Lonato.
