Gabriel Bortoleto returns to the top floors of the World Championship

Press Release by:
Gabriel Bortoleto closes a bittersweet Senior World Championship in Finland with new-found competitiveness and bad luck in the OKJ Final.

The Brazilian CRG driver started his Senior World Championship in the best way with a positive qualifying (14th time in 43.312) despite the traffic in the best lap.

Bortoleto was able to improve in the heats between Saturday and Sunday, challenging and made even more difficult by the rain. With the excellent race pace demonstrated, Bortoleto took home two thirds, a second, a fourth and a sixth place, valid for the fourth starting position of the OK Final.

Due to the heavy storm just before the Finals, the asphalt of the Mika Salo Circuit deceived many of the drivers present in the decisive race including Bortoleto, who slipped off the track in the early stages of the race.

A result that creates regret given the great potential of the Brazilian and the excellent chance of winning but that does not cancel the CRG driver's good pace.

"I am very displeased about how our race ended because we had the potential to fight with the best for a place on the podium, as we have shown throughout the weekend, both with a dry and wet track. The team did a great job and the CRG-Iame duo proved to be very competitive."

Gabriel Bortoleto will be back on track for the KZ2 Super Cup over the weekend in Lonato.
