Schumacher takes KSM towards a season of successes

Michael Schumacher: "I am really happy to be part of this project. I will give technical support to the team...whenever Peter or anyone else of the team will need my advice, I will be there for them. My presence is also aimed at giving more visibility to Peter's team, and to the sport of karting in general. This is a great opportunity for me to give something back to the sport - says Michael - to which I owe big part of my successes."

In a small town near Bergheim (in between Dusseldorf and Koln) Peter Kaiser and Thomas Muchow officialized the collaboration with former F1 champion Michael Schumacher and presented the new KSM racing team. Michael told us about his role within the team: "I am really happy to be part of this project. I will give technical support to the team...whenever Peter or anyone else of the team will need my advice, I will be there for them. My presence is also aimed at giving more visibility to Peter's team, and to the sport of karting in general. This is a great opportunity for me to give something back to the sport - says Michael - to which I owe big part of my successes." Michael also told us about another important task: "My role is also to be a sort of talent scout...I want to help talented young drivers, teaching them what it takes to become champions...and we will try to give them all the opportunities they need, even at financial level. For this reason we have established very important strategic partnerships to help us in this task."

KSM presentation was very well organized, typical of German efficiency. "I really wanted all people involved in this project to be present - says Peter. I knew it would take some time because we are all very busy people, but it was really important to me that Tonykart's Roberto Robazzi, Vortex Giovanni Corona, and Michael himself were present today. Also I'm really happy for the big attendance of important motorsport people such as WRC Champion Carlos Sainz and his son Carlos Sainz jr. (who will race the German Championship with KSM), and I want to thanks also all media people for the interest shown."

KSM team will take part in the German Championship in KF1-KF2-KF3-KZ2, but the main focus will be on the European KF2-KF3 Championships. "I want to reach important results with all my drivers, but I knew that if we did too many races we'd risk to compromise our performance , says Peter. Next year will do more championships, including the WSK."
