Gaetano Di Mauro, Brazil's five-time champion!

- Races
With the last weekend in Cascavel (Parana), the Brazilian of CRG Gaetano di Mauro won his fifth title in the Brazilian Kart Championship.

A perfect weekend for the Shell driver, currently engaged in the ever competitive Brazilian Stock Car Championship and teammate of two former F1 drivers like Rubens Barrichello and Nelson Piquet Jr.

In the past weekend, Gaetano returned behind the wheel of a KZ still making the difference with the CRG colors, the same ones he'll be defending in the prestigious KZ World Championship in Lonato in September, where he finished in fourth place last time around.

The undoubtedly talented Brazilian will be thus competing with the category's big names with the charge of 5-time-champion.

Below, the words of Di Mauro:

- Gaetano, you're Champion for the fifth time. Did you expect to win this season too?
“Yes, I expected to win because we've worked so hard this season. I want to get to the World ready and competitive. For this reason we've trained and prepared a lot to win the Championship.”

- How was the last race of the Championship?
It was a really nice race right from the start. I managed to run ahead and take a two-seconds advantage, managing to concentrate and do everything in the correct manner. We're really very happy with this performance.”

- You're also doing the Brazilian stock car season; how's it going?
“It's a beautiful category. This year we're working a lot with the whole team to be always with the top of the standings. I learned a lot in terms of performance thanks to teammates like Piquet and Barrichello. It's always nice to learn from them and work with the team!”

The Brazilian is keen to close with thanks. “Thanks to Shell Academy, CRG Brazil for this result, all my team Alan Synthes, Tarugo, Marcao and Carlos, Luiz Sergio Dos Santos for valuable information, Alfred Pascual, MG Tires and Art Infinity Brasil!.”
