The CRG Brazilian completed a weekend with yet another great comeback in the OK final at Kristianstad (Sweden).
Gabriel Bortoleto completed the third round of the FIA European Championship with a very competitive weekend.
During qualifying, Bortoleto had suffered a bit, finishing with the 21st total time but in all cases fourth for group C. The Saturday heats then highlighted the consistency of the Paulista with two ninths, a seventh and an eighth place, plus the only placement beyond the top ten ie in fourteenth position.
Bortoleto was able to qualify for the OK final by improving the initial positioning and then fighting for the entire Swedish event. In fact, the CRG driver demonstrated the excellent pace previously seen by gaining positions and fighting with a series of overtakes, before closing in the tenth final position. Nine positions gained that allow Bortoleto to be able to still have his say in the final standings with the last round of Le Mans (21 July 2019).
“I lost the last heat on Saturday and I was forced to start in back in the Final, but I made a good recovery and above all our pace was very good, from start to finish. We managed to finish in the top ten and the weekend's balance is positive, even if as a team we collected less than we deserved.”
