Gabriel Bortoleto completes the second round of the FIA European Championship OK. On the Genk kart track, the Brazilian struggles but shows himself to be competitive.
During the Genk weekend, the difficult weather conditions and intermittent rains affected the results of the two categories in the running. In OK, Gabriel Bortoleto ends a not-so-easy weekend.
During group qualifying, under the heavy Belgian rain, Bortoleto was in the fight for pole position, but saw his chances ruined by a slower driver in front of him. However, the CRG driver managed to qualify for second place in his group.
The Saturday finals then animated the European event with four direct matches. Bortoleto closed the heats program with two P4s, an eighth, a thirteenth place and a retirement due to technical problems.
With the combined classification in hand, he took part in the finale but from P24. A great comeback was called for, and Gabriel Bortoleto did not disappoint expectations: eleven overtakes and he finished in P13, a result that underscores the competitiveness of the Brazilian driver.
Next stop in two weeks in Sweden for the third round of the European OK Championship.
