The line-up of the Deutsche Elektro Kart Meisterschaft (DEKM) 2019 begins to take shape, which will also include the British driver Bradley Barrett.
Barrett, a native of Southampton, is one of the well-known faces of the British Rotax movement. His debut on the track dates back to 2012 and since then he has made all his moves; from the Mini MAX to the Senior MAX, via Junior MAX. Last year in Senior he finished 5th in the British Championship and 4th in the BNL.
Also last year he had the opportunity to compete in the Rotax Max US International Open held at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Milleville, New Jersey, which provided a totally whole new experience; he finished 3rd and he won a ticket to the Rotax Grand Finals 2018 held in Brazil.
«I’m looking forward to this new and upcoming class and it will be a great experience,” Bradley said to us. “Personally I think this is a new and upcoming class that is the future of Motorsport. This year I’m looking to be at the front and get on the podium. This will be tough for me as I’ve never even sat in the kart and I haven’t been to most of the tracks on the calendar. This is why I can’t wait to get in it at first round».

About the DEKM:
Tires, the weight of the e-karts and test days will be set before the races to ensure equal conditions for all drivers and to establish a sustainable racing series. The high performance Rotax THUNDeR racing e-kart has a maximum acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.5. sec and reaches a top speed of 130 km/h. The Rotax THUNDeR features a Rotax ePowerpack, a new Sodi Sigma DD2 chassis and Vega tires. The e-karts will be assigned to the participants at random.
2019 Prize:
1st place – €10,000
2nd place – €8,000
3rd place – €6,000
4th place – €4,000
5th place – €2,000
6th place – €1,000
In addition, the best rookie will be rewarded with €5,000. €2,500 for the best communication strategy provide an additional incentive. During the test days in Lonato (Italy), a media workshop will be held which is specially designed for the DEKM participants. It will teach the young talents vital lessons in connection with their own media appearances.
