Press Release by:
March 11, 2019 – Always a threat for top results wherever they race, BirelART North America and their dealer network delivered as they took on the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) WinterNationals in Fontana, California.

Starting off the 2019 Pro Tour with a stacked roster of 31 drivers, the Birel and Ricciardo Kart powerhouse left the Calspeed Karting facility with multiple victories as they started the Pro Tour program off on the right foot.

“We showed great speed and consistency in all categories,” expressed PSL Karting’s Dominic Labrecque. “The weather did make for some difficulties while in California, as periods of on and off rain kept the BirelART North America team very busy. Our mechanics and drivers were forced to adjust their setups and driving on Saturday during the rain. Thankfully, the weather cleared out for Sunday and we were able to run in dry conditions.”

Wet or dry, BirelART North America drivers were able to deliver in any kind of weather while in Calspeed. Saturday saw PSL Karting’s Pro Shifter standout Mathias Ramirez nab the top spot in qualifying, along with PSL Master Shifter pilot Jordon Musser and PGR’s Jess Peterson in X30 Master claiming pole positions in their respective classes.

In the finals, Peterson fell to third to claim a podium result while teammate and PGR driver Vatche Tatikian claimed the day’s victory in the X30 Master category. Musser was able to capitalize on his pole position to take the checkers in the Master Shifter final, while PKS Kart Supplies Logan Chambers added yet another victory as he won the Micro Swift final on Saturday.

Sunday, Chambers again rose to the occasion, taking the Micro Swift pole position and his second final victory of the weekend to start his Pro Tour campaign off right. BirelART took the pole for the second day in Pro Shifter, this time with PSL’s Alex Keyes. Musser also added another pole position, and turned that into his second main event victory for PSL/BirelART in Master Shifter.

Peterson made another appearance on the X30 Master podium with his third place result on Sunday, while Tatikian fell just shy of the podium in fourth. X30 Senior pilot Arthur Leist had a great run coming back from a difficult qualification session finishing P26 and came back strong to claim a top-five position in his final. PSL teammate Caleb Grafrarar added a sixth place result from Mini Swift.

Labrecque continued, “While the weekend was intense, overall it was a great weekend for everyone and a great start to our 2019 SKUSA Pro Tour. I’d also like to congratulate our newest Ricciardo Kart dealer RPL, who brought ten drivers from Mexico to California. They all showed great effort and speed all weekend.”
