Sodi W Finals 2018 – Thursday Report

First skirmishes on the Lignano track, the Sodi World Finals 2018 officially start!

While waiting for the Endurance, Sprint and Junior put on a great show in today's heats.


At the end of the direct clashes between groups, Heat 1 final 4, 3 and 2 animated the Italian public. To triumph in the finals, Arthur Gremont-Naumann (Boca Speed), Matteo Garabini (Top-Fuel racing Milan Arena) and Nikolay Varbitzaliev (Sofia Karting Ring). In the conclusive Super Final, instead, it was the Frenchman Lucas Urbani (Racing Kart de Cormeilles) to come out on top, with four positions gained and 100 points in the bank.

In the second heat, Anais Fontenau (Ledoux Karting), Hiroki Sakakibara (Harbor Circuit) and Andrejs Laipnieks (333) took home the final 4, 3 and 2 in that order.

Super Final 2 went to Mickael Mota (Aerokart) thanks to a fantastic rush through the ranks with twelve positions gained. Third Urbani, with five positions gained.


Reduced program for the Junior with only one heat completed. In Junior Kid, pole position to Zholobov (First Karting) and victory to Tom Delfosse (Karting Eupen), who started fourth.

For the Junior, initial pole position for Hydes (Slideways go karting World) and triumph for Bastien Meunier (Kartlad).
