Kart Grand Prix of Italy - Friday: Aron and Maloney post the best laps

The FIA Karting European Championship for direct drive classes started today in Sarno with the best laps signed by Ricky Flynn Motorsport’s Paul Aron and Zane Maloney, respectively in OKJ and OK.

After a few sessions of Free Practice, the event started officially in the afternoon with three sessions of Qualifying Practices that assigned the starting grid for the Heats. 

OKJ  - Aron (FA/Vortex) posts the fastest lap in 59.597, 0.020” faster than his team mate Kai Askey and the Swedish Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart/Vortex). Outsider Conrad Laursen (FA/Vortex) and Kirill Smal (Tony Kart/Vortex) round out the top5. 

OK - A 0.008 seconds gap splits Maloney and the Brit Harry Thompson (FA/Vortex). Third position, the first in the “C”-group, for Roman Stanek (Kosmic/Vortex), followed by the Dexter Patterson’s TM-powered Exprit and Hannes Janker (KR/Parilla). 

Heats go underway tomorrow and they will decide the pole position for the final races.
