The months-long wait is finally over: the CIK FIA 2018 European Championship starts this weekend at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli.
With pre-season and first results in the archives, all the drivers in the European are set to go. A start that's sure to be explosive with OK and OKJ on track for the year's round one. The stage for the inaugural weekend: Sarno, and the first with the new promoter, RGMMC.
But first, a quick look at the 2017 race: Theo Pourchaire (OK) and Jonny Edgar (OKJ) triumphed in Italy. The Brit then went on to win the Junior title, while the Senior class went, instead, to Sami Taoufik.
Among the current favorites: David Hadrien (Kosmic / Vortex), Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / TM) and Aron Paul (FA / Vortex). Possible outsiders: the Italian Gabriele Minì (Parolin / Parilla) and Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex), for the junior.
In Senior, the fight at the top is expected to be between: Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM), David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex), Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla) and Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla). Possible outsiders: Harry Thompson (FA / Vortex), Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) and Lorenzo Ferrari (Exprit / Vortex).
Here the time-table for Sarno.
The appointment starts tomorrow. Stay tuned on our channels.
