The two times World Champion and three times European Champion Paolo De Conto has tested the Lamborghini Huracan Supertrofeo of Team Antonelli, in a test prize promised and given by his dad after the World Championship won by Paolo.
Paolo De Conto received a special prize for his great results: a test on the Lamborghini Huracan Supertrofeo run by the Italian GT Champion team Antonelli Motorsport at the circuit of Cremona.
Paolo De Conto had been promised this test by his dad Mario ahead of the World Championship held in Wackersdorf. Now the promise has been kept, thanks to the support of the Minardi Management after he won the second World Championship in a row on CRG-TM.
“I had a lot of fun, I was like a kid” Paolo De Conto commented after an intense testing day started at 9 AM and ended at 5PM, after completing more than 100 laps on track. At the eve of the test Paolo De Conto was resolute to take it easy, but after getting acquainted with the car, he started to put in interesting lap times. This was kind of expected from someone that has always been a top driver in his life. “I enjoyed a lot the car – Paolo De Conto admitted – it is quite a good toy...” For the records, his best lap time has been 1’25”9s. Marco Antonelli completed some laps too and posted a best performance of 1’25”3s, which means that the lap times posted by De Conto are very good even compared to the performance of a very experienced and successful driver like Antonelli.
“It has been a great experience – Paolo De Conto continued – but my number one priority is karting – with CRG – 100%. Next week I am gonna be in Vegas where I will take part in the important end of season American race. I will be competing in S1 and KZ. I am totally committed to karting. I hope to repeat the results scored in the past few years also next season, and hopefully even improve them… I do not want to think about cars, but I have to admit that I had a lot of fun...”
