Road 2 Wackersdorf – Riccardo Longhi

- Interview
2015 Italian ACI Karting Championship winner in KZ2, in 2017 Riccardo moved up to international karting with BirelART and he demonstrated to have the pace to be on top places.

After a great win in the Trofeo delle Industrie, an unlucky European championship. Tell us your opinion about this season.
“This year we started very well with a fourth place in the Winter Cup and a win in the Margutti Trophy. In the European Championship in Genk I finished in third, but lately I was penalised. In France we had a bad qualifying that ruined the whole weekend, while in Sweden everything went well until the final race, where I started on grid two, but unfortunately the weather compromised everything. We were fast, but unlucky as you said.”
BirelART has made an incredible step forward, technically speadking, especially in KZ2, but what do you miss to stay constantly on top?
“From a technical point of view we’re ok now, but personally I have to improve in wet conditions. Generally speaking we are always among the fastest drivers.”
Do you like Wackersdorf? What do you expect from this race?
“Yes, I like it. I expect to be very competitive, hoping that the weather will be good and above all there will be dry conditions.”
What championships are you going to race next year?
“I do not even know what to do day by day! Follow me to know my future plans!”
