Frenchman Victor Martins wins the OK Junior world championship after a hard fought final race! David Vidales finishes in second position and Théo Pourchaire in third.
At the beginning of the European championship, nobody knew who he was, but now Victor Martins (Kosmic – Parilla) is the the king of the night here in Bahrain, he is the OK Junior world champion!
David Vidales (Tony Kart – Vortex) starts well the final race, followed by CRG’s Gianluca De Castro Petecof (CRG – Parilla) and Martins, but he goes wide and loses the lead of the race. 2016 OK Junior European champion Fin Kenneally (FA Kart – Vortex) is in fourth because of a contact immediately after the start. The leading quartet starts swapping positions until the mid-race, when an huge battle with Petecof, Kiern Jewiss (Exprit – TM), Vidales, Kenneally and Pourchaire flares up, and Marting gets away from the group.
Behind leader’s shoulders it’s a battle between Pourchaire, Vidales and Petecof for podium places, and the first two drivers find their way to it.
