A warm Sarno hosts the fifth day of RMCGF 2016. In the morning Mini and Micro classes raced two heats per each class, and are ready for prefinals tomorrow morning
MICRO
Santiago Vallve from Spain and Robert De Haan from the Netherlands divide the wins in heats, putting their karts ahead of James Egozi from USA and Dutch Kris Haanen. Third place in the second heat for Portuguese Adrian Mahleiro, who gets the better of Egozi for the lowest step of the podium.
"It's the first race for me out of my home town after the National title, it's great to challenge the best Rotax drivers of the World. - says Robert De Haan - As a team we're helping each other, and my teammates helped me to improve lines on this track and now I'm competitive and ready for the prefinal."
MINI
From the 9th place in qualifying to a clean sweep in both heats: Frenchman Victor Bernier looks to be the man to beat in Mini class, leading the 36 drivers twice. Behind his shoulders the Brit Jonny Edgar and American Arias Deukmedjian swap position on the virtual podium, finishing second and third.
"I'm really happy for this result, I still didn't realize what I've done! - comments Victor Bernier - I've been working on the engine and the transmission, in order to have the perfect set-up. The main straight is long and having a perfectly tuned engine is crucial. This is my first race here in Italy, a very nice experience after my second place in the Rotax MAX Challenge France. Can't wait to race the prefinal race!"
