Kevin Lüdi is approaching the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Sarno with two titles: Rotax MAX Eurochallenge and the BNL Karting Series. The Swiss driver wants to conclude perfectly a great season in the shifter class.
A season started with a fourth in the Winter Cup in Valencia and then two titles: winner of Eurochallenge and BNL Karting Series. Tell us your impressions about this season...
I started really good in this year with winning all three heats at the Winter Cup and the final day started to get really complicate and I finished just on P4. From then on I had a great run trough the whole year. I was able to fight in each race for the podium or the victory and that was a big step to get the titles this year. I wanna thanks here again my team without them we would never have a season like that.
You will attend the RMCGF with two titles, in your opinion who are the most tough rivals you will meet in Sarno?
Yes the RMCGF its defently a big race again for me. I really like a lot the big and high races to drive. For sure the both titles will help me to bring a lot of confident and motivation for this race.. For sure the men to beat will be Kancsar for me a specially also because he is the titleholder.. I also expect that Backmann as a vice world champion and Schoell as a vice European champion will be in the mix like some others as well.
You defeated Ferenc, 2015 RMCGF winner. Is this a sign?
Yeah Ferenc had an amazing and unreal last year with winning every think he could.. So for me was a big honor to beat the current World champion and last year European champion.. I would defently say it is a sign!
How are you getting ready for this event?
I was testing in July at the track in Sarno with a Birelart kart and drove many laps so that was quite my preparation for this race.. For me a big point will be the mental strong to see who is able to adapt as quick as possible to the conditions.
Which are your plans for the next season?
I am still not sure yet, but i think i gonna try to defend my titles..
