Junior Sprockets hits the mark in Australia

- Special
While it is one of the most exciting sports in the world, karting can be daunting for youngsters when they get behind the wheel for the first time.

Karting Australia are helping break down the barriers for new drivers to the sport through their new Junior Development Program – the SP Tools Junior Sprockets.
Courtesy of the support of SP Tools, DPE Kart Technology, ALM Sales and various other members of the Australian karting industry the program has quickly become a marketing flagship for Karting Australia.

Following a pilot program being held in Queensland and Victoria last year, an expanded schedule of six Junior Sprockets programs were planned for 2016.  The first three were held during the school holiday periods in Adelaide, Albury and Perth with the next three scheduled for the September/October school holidays in the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney.

Driving Vortex and IAME powered Arrow and Kosmic karts, the program provides newcomers to the sport with the thrill and excitement of kart racing in a safe and controlled environment while being educated by experienced instructors and drivers.

The program is headed by long-time karting coach Troy Hunt with Holden Racing Team Supercar drivers, including former World Karting Champion James Courtney, on hand.
