Press Release by:
Shenington Kart Racing Club are thrilled to reveal that the headline sponsor for this year’s Shenington SuperPrix & MSA E Plate on 15- 17 July is Whelen Europe. The meeting also hosts the second round of the MSA British Kart Championship for the exciting new CIK classes OK and OK Junior as part of the Super One Series and rounds of the KZ UK Super 4 and 210 Challenge.

No strangers to the world of Motorsport, Whelen Engineering, the world’s leader in the supply and manufacture of LED lighting and siren systems for the emergency services, are the title sponsors for three US NASCAR series. Whelen are also the title sponsors of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) which runs across Europe with races in Spain, Holland, France, Italy, Belgium and the UK. NWES has seen many European drives step up from karting directly to NWES looking for the opportunity to race in the US. Paul Garner of Whelen Europe says: “We are very proud to support such a great event and hope to see some of these young drivers competing across Europe in the future, possibly in the NWES”. Further information on Whelen and their involvement in motorsport can be found at www.whelen.com

The meeting starts with open Friday practice on 15 July, available even to those not entered in the race weekend.  There will be practice during most of Saturday after scrutineering from 0800 and signing on by 0900, some heats late Saturday afternoon and timed qualifying for the MSA British Championships (OK & OKJ), then the rest of the heats on Sunday before the Finals. The bar is open on Friday and Saturday evening, with a bucking bronco, and on Saturday evening there is the traditional pig roast, salad, disco and live music.  All drivers entered will receive a pig roast ticket and more can be purchased.  The club is offering a Kart Boot sale in the Marquee on Sunday (booking form to follow) at a cost of £20 per pitch.
