Pole set in Portimao for the Rotax Grand Finals

At the most anticipated single-make event of the season, the racing is in full swing. The 16th Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals is taking place in a sunny Portimao, where 288 drivers are contesting the coveted title. After the free practice of the past few days, the official qualifying session took place on Wednesday afternoon. As usual, the organization is of the highest standards, and the paddock very colorful, this year welcoming former F1 star Rubens Barrichello in the DD2 grid.
In Junior Max, Finnish driver Roope Ropanen stopped the fastest lap with 1’01”912, in Senior pole went to Berkay Besler from Turkey (1’00”302), in DD2 to Ferenc Kancsar proved fastest with 58”929 while in DD2 Masters Derek Wang from the USA clocked 59”257.
 
The heats are underway, as well as the practice sessions for Micro and Mini drivers.
