After fighting for his life following the terrible accident in the Japan 2014 GP, French F1 driver Jules Bianchi loses his final battle.
The terrible accident in Suzuka on 5th October 2014 during the craziness of that F1 Grand Prix didn't leave much room for optimism, but we all dreamt of Jules waking up one day, smiling his gentle smile, as he used to when the cameras were off.
Today we wake up with the a reality check, the injuries suffered in one of the freakiest accident in F1 history proved too great, and Jules, 25, is no longer with us. Everyone in motorsport, from Karting to F1, says farewell to the driver - a very talented one - and to a friend.
The news came from his family early this morning: “Jules fought right to the very end, as he always did, but today his battle came to an end. The pain we feel is immense and indescribable.”
Our sincere thoughts are with them.
Below, one of the interviews he was kind enough to grant us when already in F1.
