As many as 60 guests took part to the launch of Buckmore Park Karting under the ownership and management of motorsport legend John Surtees OBE.
A banquet and a wide range of activities were organize to entartain the many guests, among them celebrities, motorsport series organizers, team owners, sponsors, and members of the Media.
After John's speech outlining the new course of the facility - strengthening its corporate side through the acquisition of a brand new 50-strong fleet of blue-and-yellow Team Surtees Sodi RT8 karts, extending the current layout and improving the site with the creation of an education and technology centre and a bigger parking area - it was time for Scott Malvern to take the Surtees T10 Formula 2 car around the circuit. A fantastic spectacle, followed by a session open to everyone willing to take the brand new RT8s round for a spin.
A sign of great respect and tribute was also paid to the late John Button, F1 McLaren star Jenson's father, with the inauguration of the John Button suite in the main conference hall, featuring two photos of John and Jenson and John's framed pink shirt for which he was renowned in the paddock.
