During the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) in Portimão, Portugal, BRP will give the youngest drivers of the Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) the chance to race the Grand Festival on an international platform and to compete in a genuine racing atmosphere.
“We would like the youngest kart races to experience the feeling of a racing event, organized on a high level”, said Helmut Voglsam, supervisor, Rotax Kart Engines. The Grand Festival has the equal concept as the RMCGF. That means that the Rotax Micro MAX and Mini MAX drivers will receive the complete kart including the engine, tyres, fuel as well as trackside support. They will also enter the Parc Fermé and work in the same environment like their heroes. “That is the reason why we have integrated the Rotax Mini and Micro MAX races into the timing of the Grand Finals,” informed Voglsam.
The Grand Festival’s 72 talented young kart enthusiasts, 36 in each category, will be officially supported by the chassis manufacturers BirelART with its C28 R chassis for the Rotax 125 Mini MAX category and IPKarting with its PRAGA PICCOLO chassis supporting the Rotax 125 Micro MAX class.
“Our intention is to give the youngest drivers an insight how races are handled and how they will have to deal with when they would like to grow in motorsports. To be part of such a big event will be a very good experience for them to get an idea what will be expected if they would like to be a real racer”, is Arnaldo Frias, Rotax Kart Engines’ distributor in Portugal and Spain, convinced.
The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2015 where 288 drivers from close to 60 countries will race for the title in four categories will occur at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão, Portugal from November 8 to 14, 2015.
