Danilo Rossi’s team put up an impressive performance at the second round of the WSK Champions Cup with Artem Petrov and Sergey Travnikov, both powered by TM engines.
The highly competitive KFJ field saw Petrov shining in more than one session. After stopping the 8th fastest lap in qualifying, the Russian went on to finish twice 2nd in the heats, but his chance for a top grid position were shattered when he was taken out in the 2nd and got 10” penalty in the 3rd. Another penalty – this time 3” – in the prefinal relegated the fast Russian on P19 in the final grid, following which a superb comeback ensued with a massive 10 positions gained. Ninth at the chequered flag is not a podium finish, but the potential is there.
Similar faith for fellow Russian Travnikov, boasting two top-10 results in the heats, followed by an exclusion in the final due to a non front fairing non conformity. Too bad, because Sergey mastered the field coming back up from 33rd on the grid to take the chequered flag in P11.
