Another great international success for the event
in memory of the young driver Andrea Margutti, deceased in 1989. This year too,
the major teams take part in the competition with lots of champions. all the
places available in the 4 categories of the event are almost full.
Parma – Italy – 15th March 2010. With the 21stedition, due this weekend from 19th to 21st March on the 7 Laghi Circuit at
Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia – Italy), the Andrea Margutti Trophy is at its
best and ready to achieve the result it was born for: reviving the memory of
the young driver Andrea Margutti, who tragically died in 1989 at Parma, during
a practice session.
The entrants are 210 so far: this astonishing number
confirms that karting likes this important international meeting, which is also
one of the events of the official CIK-FIA calendar. There are entrants coming
from 24 different countries: Italy, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Indonesia, Montenegro, Norway,
Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine. Almost full all the available places in the
four categories of the competition. The most representative teams with their champions
will battle on the track for the categories KF2, KF3, KZ2, the
category with gear shift, and with the participation of the very young drivers
of the Mini 60, the
category reserved for children from 9 to 12 years of age. The importance of the event is also witnessed by the
sponsorship of Barilla, among other important companies and besides the traditional
sponsorship ofAlitest. Barilla,
on this very special occasion, will hand out some sweets to all the participants. Among the prizes there is a chassis offered by Birel, Crg (60 Mini), Tony Kart and Top Kart for the winner of each category; then a Iame engine KF2, 16 sets of Vega tyres, 16 sets of Douglas Wheel magnesium rims, 6 sets of KG fairings.
As already announced, Andrea Bertolini (FIA GT champion of the world with
Maserati for three times and tester for Ferrari) is the sports celebrity who
endorses the event. He even will take part in the event with his new karting
team Formula K. The Trophy can count on a series of information
services for all the people involved in the event and for the spectators,
besides a very functional hospitality and secretary structure. The meeting will
be filmed by the cameras of Roberto Cinquanta and Fabrizio Cognati’s national
TV programme 422 Race,
which can be viewed on SKY 846 (satellite). The schedule of the event contains the beginning of
the free practice (from 08.20am to 06.20pm) and the sporting checks (from
03.00pm to 06.30pm) onFriday 19th March. The qualifying session are on schedule for Saturday
20th March (from 09.50am to 12.00pm) together with the first qualifying heats
(from 01.00pm to 06.00pm). A continuation of the qualifying heats is on
schedule on the following Sunday 21st March (at 10.20am), then the second chance heats (at
11.20am) and the pre-finals (12.20pm). After the presentation of the drivers
(01.45pm), the finals will begin at 03.15pm. The prize-giving ceremony for the
first ten of the ranking in each category is due at 06.00pm.
