During the Grand Finals there is one team that couldn’t miss of course: Team Belgium. Belgium has 7 tickets with the BNL Karting Series and the Belgian Max Challenge.
And 1 driver, Mathias Detige, won another ticket in Zuera. That makes a team of 8 drivers and let’s be honest, it’s a really strong team!
In the Junior Class there are 2 drivers: Max Timmermans and Deniz Beckers.
For Beckers it’s the first time that he is participating at the Grand Finals. But For Timmermans it’s already his second time. Last year he was in New Orleans where he learned a lot. That gives him a big advantage! He knows how the Grand Finals are organised. Last month he did two days of testing together with Beckers. So they know the track.
In the Senior Max, Team Belgium also have 2 drivers: Vincent Jewell and Dylan Lahaye. Be aware of these drivers because Jewell won the BNL and defeated a lot of big European drivers. Lahaye is used to drive on the Birel Chassis. Lahaye participates for the 2nd time and Jewell for the 3rd, so keep an eye on them.
Then the DD2, with 3 drivers of Team Belgium: Mathias Detige, Xen De Ruwe and Barrie Pullinger! De Ruwe and Pullinger won their entry to the Grand Finals with the BNL Karting Series. Both drivers have a lot of experience and did already some Grand Finals. For the De Ruwe it’s his 4th time! He has been close to tacking the title a coiple of times. Let’s hope that he can show what he’s worth without any incidents!
And then we still have Detige! It’s his 3th time and he always managed it to the top 10. For this year, we’re hoping on a title!
Last but not least Team Belgium has still one secret weapon: Christophe ‘Casanova’ Adams. With 9 participations and 2 World Titles, he is the only driver in the world who participated so many times at the Grand Finals! It’s an honor to have such a driver in a team!
Good luck team Belgium and let’s take a few titles back home!
