Predictable poles and a surprise in Essay

- Races
First day of official sessions on the French circuit in Essay for the CIK-FIA World Championships for KF and KF Junior. Nicklas Nielsen (KF) and Enaam Ahmed (KFJ) stop the fastest lap in qualifying, as DR/Tm powered Artem Petrov (KFJ) grabs a superb win in one of the heats.

Not many surprises in KF qualifying, as Nielsen (Kosmic/Vortex) clinched the pole with 49"093, as Lando Norris (FA Kart/Vortex - 49"119) and Ilott (Zanardi/Iame - 49"130) proving fastest of their group.
Huge disappointment for Ben Hanley (ART Grand Prix/Tm), down the field due to problems to the power valve.

In KFJ, the three fastest were Ahmed (FA Kart/Vortex - 49"725), Roes Andersen (Energy/Tm - 49"787) and Petrov (49"790), the Brit going on to win both of his heats, and the Russian winning one and finishing 5th in the other. Swede Noah Milell (Exprit/Vortex) took the other heat win of the day.

Tomorrow the heats will start at 10.10. Follow the Live Timing on www.cikfia.com
