Arrow Racing Karts were well represented at the Mexican Rotax Grand Nationals held recently in the thriving city of Monterrey. Achieving at least a podium finish in all 5 classes competed throughout the event, highlighted by an impressive win in the Junior Max Final.
The Arrow X1 was the benchmark of the Junior Max class in the Pre Final with Gerardo Lozano setting the fastest lap of the race on his way to an impressive victory, earning himself pole position for the main event. Lozano started strongly in the Final only to be caught by fellow Arrow driver Carlos Torres, who recovered from an unfortunate DNF in the Pre Final to challenge for the lead midway through the race. Torres held on to the lead and claimed a pleasing victory for both himself and Arrow Racing Karts, the win earns Torres a trip to the world Final event to be held in Egypt early next year.
Patricio O’Ward continued his impressive 2009 racing form to set the pace in the Mini Max class. The young Arrow driver sent an ominous warning to the rest of the field from the outset, setting the fastest lap on his way to a convincing win in the Classification race. O’Ward would start the Final from pole position after an emphatic victory in the Pre Final and cleared a gap from the field until a red flag resulted in a restart of the race. The restart brought the field back together and O’Ward battled with the lead group throughout the remainder of the Final to take a strong second place finish.
Arrow Karts were well represented on the Final podium of the Masters class with X1 drivers Jose Luis Trevino and Mario Garcia occupying 2 of the 3 podium positions on offer. Starting from the rear of the field in the Final, Trevino methodically worked his way through the field setting the fastest lap by no less than 5 tenths to finish just ahead of Garcia on the podium. The podium placing continued with Enrique Baca overcoming a DNF in the Pre Final to earn a podium finish in the DD2 Final. Javier Gonzalez became the second Arrow driver at the event to earn a trip to the Rotax world finals with an impressive performance in the International class. Gonzalez set the fastest time in a closely fought Pre Final and continued his form to stand proudly on the Final podium.
Arrow Racing Karts would like to congratulate all who contributed to the fantastic results at the 2009 Mexican Rotax Grand Nationals. For more information about Arrow Racing Karts and to locate your nearest dealer please visit www.arrowkarts.com
