Low entry World Champs at PFI

Columns: Races
The first World Championship event for KF of the season boasts a superb organization and facility, but the low entry numbers are yet again the weak point of this world class event.

After 45 years of absence, a World Championship event is back in the UK on the exciting facility of PF International. All top drivers did make the trip to the superb circuit in Brandon, as well as all major teams, to play part in one of the most highly anticipated events of the season.
And yet, the faltering numbers - particularly in KF Junior for the International Super Cup where the entry list stops at 26 - proved quite a disappointment for everyone.
In KF the list includes 53 drivers, which is likely to shrink even more for the final event in Bahrain in mid November.

To put this data into context, as many as 81 and 88 drivers in each respective class took on the grids in Zuera last year at the World Cups for KF2 and KF3.

Credit to TVKC staff for a brilliant facility and organization, they surely deserved more entries to make the first round of the World Championship a truly memorable one.

Friday will see drivers trying ideal set up in the Free Practice sessions until 4.30pm GMT when the first qualifying session will get going.

Make sure to visit the CIK website to follow the Live Timing, and on Sunday the Live TV Streaming will broadcast the final races.
