CIK European KZ-KZ2 Championship Rnd.2, Genk (B)

KZ2 drivers have been the first to take on the tracks for qualifying practice. Belgian Kenny Charles (Merlin/Tm) stopped the fastest lap (1’02”650) but the changeable weather conditions do not bode well for the following sessions.
The 84 drivers were divided into 3 groups, Oberg (Gillard/Tm - 1’04”656) and Habulin (Crg/Modena Engines - 1’04”853) being the fastest of their respective group. The winner of the first round, Riccardo Negro (DR/Tm) was 3rd of his group, while his direct rival Marco Zanchetta was further down the field and Felice Tiene failed to start his engine and recorded no lap.
As well as the champions of KZ and KZ2 categories, the younger drivers of the Academy Trophy are busy in Genk for the first of 3 rounds.

The qualifying heats will start at 2.50 pm, while KZ drivers will take on the track for qualifying practice at 4.10 pm.
