In a note on the official website, the French federation announced the cancellation of the French Championship for KF and KZ2 due to insufficient entries.
At less than a month from MSA announcement cancelling the KF2 British Championship and replacing it with KZ category, the top direct-drive class suffers another blow from one of the most important and influential national federations on the planet.
At this stage, KF Junior seems to be the only CIK category attracting enough French drivers to organize a 3 round championship, while it’s unclear whether KF and KZ2 will be granted another chance to dispute the national championship during the season.
Below, the translation of FFSA official statement
“It is with great regret that the FFSA has decided to cancel the meeting of the French Championships for KFJ, KF and KZ2 scheduled in Ostricourt on 25-26 May 2013.
A week before the registration deadline, the number of entries was too low for the event to take place. While national categories have a good turn out, the situation of three international categories in the Championship of France continues to decline. KFJ is the only category whose numbers allow for a national championship in 2013 to be run, and the FFSA is currently evaluating several solutions to keep the scheduled number of 3 rounds for this category.”
