The NGO Riders for Health, a non-profit organisation co-founded by 1980s 500cc World Championship rider Randy Mamola, with the support of Italian manufacturer PCR organized a kart fun race with some of the stars of MotoGP on Wednesday 31st October before the GP in Valencia. Among the stars, Randy DePuniet, Anthony West, Hector Barbera, Hector Faubel, Mattia Pasini, Randy Mamola, winner of 13 GPs in 500cc during his fantastic riding career, and four time World Champion in 80cc and 125cc Jorge Martinez Aspar.
‘I was delighted to participate in the race. All members of my team and my teammate were very happy to collaborate for a just cause and we had great fun racing the karts,’ said Kawasaki star Anthony West.
And Martinez Aspar commented that although it was a fund-raising event, everyone took it really seriously. ‘I was exhausted after the race, and I had forgotten how tiring it is ... I’m not fit anymore for this kind of things, but it was such great fun!’
