British driver Jack Hawksworth, who finished 7th in the last European KZ2 Championship, has signed on for Energy-Fly Kart Factory Racing team for the 2009 season.
Hawksworth visited the factory before signing the agreement to race for the Energy team in KZ1 World Cup, KZ2 WSK Series, KZ2 European Championship and KZ2 German Championship.
“First of all I would like to thank PDB Racing team and Gillard racing karts. It has been an honour to race for them in 2008. I have decided to move to Energy Corse team in 2009 as I see it as a new chapter and another step in my career. I'm very much looking forward to working with my new team and racing the Energy chassis on TM-Rizzi engines for the first time. I hope we can make a strong team and challenge for wins and championships.”
