Belgian Championship opener cancelled

- News and Previews

The RACB, the Belgian automobile club, has just announced the cancellation of the opening round of the BNL Belgian Open championship scheduled on 5-6th May at Genk Circuit. Despite the Belgian federation entrusted the very experienced Limburg Karting team with the organization of the championship, the entry list proved unsatisfactory.

“Everything was ready" said event organizer Boy Pijls. "The organization was in place, but unfortunately not enough drivers entered the event.”
But the Belgian federation is already looking ahead, trying to find the best way to host the national championship for the international classes.
“The categories recognized by the international federation suffer in most national championships,” said Mathieu Remmerie, Karting Manager of RACB Sport. “Despite our efforts, there weren’t enough competitors and RACB Sport together with the event organizer decided not to hold the event. We want to analyze in detail the situation and see what we can do in order to have a national championship for KZ2, KF2, KF3, KF5 and Mini class.”
