Fantastic karting road race in Russia!

What a brilliant event the Russian Karting Association, together with the support of the city’s Governor and the Russian Automobile Federation, organized in St.Petersburg as a support event to the second International Congress on ‘Road safety for the safety of life’. A superb karting road race for young drivers (Mini and Micro class) called St.Petersburg Governor Cup.

In a 800m long track, next to one of the city’s most important monuments, Micro and Mini drivers had a fantastic fight over 10 laps and 15 laps final respectively. And there was a special surprise for all drivers involved and the big crowd present: 7-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher was the guest of honour, taking part to the conference on road safety, and entertaining the numerous fans!

Mrs. Valentina Matvienko, the city’s Governor, also announced the building of a brand new, world-class kart track in St.Petersburg that will host major Russian and international events in the near future.
Vroom will follow with great interest future developments, so stay tuned!
