The drivers transfer is currently in turmoil, particularly top drivers, of which there are less and less. Birel seems to have hit the best shot for next season and presents a top line-up in KZ1.

Besides confirming the well-established relationship with Sauro Cesetti - since 2004 a standard bearer of the company based in Lissone (northern Italy) for both reliability and development - Birel Motorsport has been joined by 2012 European KZ1 Champion Paolo De Conto, who had previously announced the conclusion of his collaboration with Energy.
Also, another very expert gearbox driver such as Roberto Toninelli will wear Birel colours in KZ1 for next season. The latter seems to have been offered a double role, not only as a driver but also as a collaborator in the company, as in the future he might be involved in the management of the racing department.
Birel will continue to use the BMB engines by Carlo Boscolo, but the tuner is yet to be decided. It’s still not clear whether Frizzi will continue, or Savard will be preferred. In the next few days we will know more details, but it seems to us that this strategy is set to put Birel team in a favourable position of being once again protagonist in the gearbox class.
